Week 5 - Activity 4

Hey again,

Diving straight in, the company I'm having a look at today is Cisco, the US networking giant. As I'm most familiar with Facebook I'll be mostly looking at all of Cisco's Facebook pages, and boy are there a lot. Just a quick search reveals separate pages for Cisco itself, Cisco certifications, Cisco Security,  specialized pages for specific countries, and dozens of other specific interest groups.

Week 3 - TWITTER!

Evening again, folks

I've opted to go for option 1 for the second blog activity, as I've already noted my inexperience with professional social media. So far I have resisted the urge to get myself a Twitter account, but I have finally caved and created an account for it. I found the experience very easy and painless, despite my misgivings at the entire length-limited communications format.

Maiden post (week 2)

I guess introductions are in order - my name is Owen Cole and I'm studying IT at QUT. This is my first time creating anything resembling an academic or corporate blog, although I have of course been active with other social media systems such as Facebook in my personal life. I'm looking forward to seeing the ways that social media usage has shaped and continues to shape society and businesses.
